SOLD  charcoal on rag paper

My first really serious painting experience was in 1973 when my father, Clare Bice, and I went to Newfoundland on a sketching trip.  When I was clearing out my studio recently I came across an old and very damaged slide taken on this trip.  The subject is The Battery, a small neighbourhood of buildings clinging to the side of Signal Hill and overlooking St. John’s Harbour.
